"Bell ExpressVu LP and Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment Inc. have reached an agreement to make the Toronto Maple Leafs' pre-season hockey games available free to Bell ExpressVu subscribers, starting tomorrow night.
Through its pay per view service, Vu!, Bell ExpressVu will offer these games for free to subscribers in the Leafs TV broadcast territory within the Ontario region. Bell ExpressVu subscribers outside of the Ontario region can see the games inside the NHL Centre Ice package.
Bell Express Vu will offer Maple Leafs Sports and Entertainment's LEAFS TV as part of its regular programming starting in 2003 on a subscription basis.
"This is the first time that Bell ExpressVu has been able to offer these exhibition games to its viewers across Canada, demonstrating our commitment to providing excellent sports programming," says Chris Frank, VP, Programming and Government Affairs, Bell ExpressVu. "We hope that by offering these pre-season games that Bell ExpressVu subscribers will be enticed to sign up for LEAFS TV with us next year."
Generally, local area broadcasters do not cover exhibition games so Bell ExpressVu considers these games a bonus for subscribers.
The games will be available as follows:
