Five Maple Leaf Juniors invited to Canadian selection camp
The Canadian Hockey Association formally announced their invitation list Monday for Canada's 2003 National Junior Team Selection Camp December 11-16, 2002. Of the thirty-four players under 20 years of age named, five are Toronto Maple Leafs' draft choices.

Defencemen Carlo Colaiacovo, Ian White and Brendan Bell will join forwards Kyle Wellwood and Matt Stajan for the Canadian camp at the Halifax (Nova Scotia) Metro Centre.

Colaiacovo played an integral role for Canada as the team earned a silver medal at last year's World Juniors in the Czech Republic.

Team Canada's selection camp will produce 22 players on Canada's final roster for the 2003 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships in Halifax and Sydney, Nova Scotia from December 26, 2002 to January 5, 2003. The record for most players drafted by one NHL team on a Canadian National Junior Team roster is five, held by the Maple Leafs.

Russ Courtnall, Gary Leeman, Dan Hodgson, Allan Bester and Ken Wregget all played with the 1984 Canadian Junior Team.
