Gameday Preview
GAME: Toronto Maple Leafs (15-13-2-0) at Atlanta Thrashers (7-18-1-3).

TIME: Monday, 7:30 p.m. EST.

Mikael Renberg seems to have rekindled his scoring touch. The Toronto Maple Leafs just hope he keeps it.

Renberg looks to continue his resurgence as the Toronto Maple Leafs face off against the hapless Atlanta Thrashers at Philips Arena.

Renberg and Mats Sundin each had a goal and an assist as the Maple Leafs downed the New York Rangers 4-1 Saturday night.

Renberg has two goals and three points over his last two games, just the second time this season he has tallied goals in consecutive games.

"When I get the puck now I really don't think I just shoot," the 30-year-old forward said. "That's the way it is when you get some goals and get a little confidence. I don't score pretty goals, but they seem to go in for me this year."

Tie Domi and Nik Antropov also scored for the resurgent Maple Leafs, who have won eight straight at home and nine of 12 overall.

Toronto goalie Ed Belfour, who leads the league with five shutouts, had another impressive game, turning aside 36 shots.

Renberg scored 38 goals during his rookie season with the Philadelphia Flyers but hasn't broken the 30-goal plateau since.

Yet, he now has 11 goals this season -- just three less than he had in 74 games last season.

"He's getting results," Maple Leafs coach Pat Quinn said. "Last year his work ethic was just like you're seeing every night now, but clearly he is on a roll statistically speaking and his work has just been magnificent."

The league-worst Thrashers have lost six straight and nine of 11 with Saturday's 4-0 loss to the St. Louis Blues.

Byron Dafoe, who has started eight of nine games for Atlanta, stopped 25 shots. He is winless in his last five games with two overtime losses.
