ATLANTA (Ticker) -- Defenseman Tomas Kaberle had three assists and Tie Domi recorded his 200th NHL point as the Toronto Maple Leafs rolled over the Atlanta Thrashers, 5-2.

Domi was credited with his 10th goal of the season when a shot by Kaberle redirected off his skate midway through the opening period.

"It hit right on the skate from pretty far out. There's no way they can call a kick," Domi said. "I couldn't have directed it."

Defenseman Richard Smehlik tied it less than two minutes later with his second goal this season.

Shayne Corson had the only goal in the second period as Toronto took the lead for good.

Nik Antropov scored his career-high 13th goal when Kaberle spotted him for a breakaway coming out of the penalty box at 5:35 of the third. Antropov beat Pasi Nurminen with a backhander to make it 3-1.

Vyacheslav Kozlov reduced the lead to 3-2 shortly thereafter, but Domi recorded his 200th career point when he set up Alyn McCauley at 9:20.

"We capitalized on our opportunities," Domi said. "They're a young team. It was a good test for us."

"We were flat tonight, it was a poor effort," defenseman Andy Sutton said. "We were soft around our net and their net. We did not do the little things we had the last couple of games."

Mats Sundin finished the scoring on the power play with 3:28 remaining when he took Antropov's feed and moved the puck to his backhand for his 23rd goal.

"It's going to be good to get the break now," Sundin said.

"Looking at the standings, we have a lot of people chasing us and we're trying to gain ground, too. More than anything, we're trying to secure a playoff spot."

Toronto improved to 8-5-1 against Atlanta in the all-time series.

"We played pretty good. Eddie Belfour was sharp when he had to be," Toronto coach Pat Quinn said. "This probably was the best four-line game we had in a while. Our last two games, both have been pleasing victories."

"We had a couple of mental mistakes and Toronto is a good opportunistic team and that was the difference," Thrashers coach Bob Hartley said. "Tie Domi is the best tough-guy player in this league. He can score goals, make plays and defensively he is very reliable. Plus he knows his role."
