Leafs Clinch Playoff Spot, Fans To Paint Town Blue
Proceeds from exclusive paint colour to benefit Habitat for Humanity Canada

With the Toronto Maple Leafs securing their chance to compete for the Stanley Cup, fans are ready to show their true blue colours to support the team's campaign. Fans will literally be able to paint the town blue - or at least their walls - as The Home Depot Canada teams up with the Toronto Maple Leafs to offer the official Toronto Maple Leafs Blue paint by CIL.

While Leafs fans spruce up their homes with the legendary blue - they will also brighten-up the community, as a portion of Leafs Blue paint sales benefits Habitat for Humanity Canada.

"Selling Maple Leaf Blue paint in our stores is a great way for The Home Depot to help fans show their true colours, said Lyne Castonguay, The Home Depot Canada's paint merchant. "It's also a great way to help a charity that embraces the do-it-yourself spirit - Habitat for Humanity."

The paint, which will be available at Home Depot stores in Toronto and within a 50-mile radius of the Air Canada Centre for a limited time, can be used anywhere inside or outside the home.

"Maple Leaf Blue has our local Home Depot stores getting ready to support the team in its playoff drive," said Castonguay. "We've also heard about customers gearing up for the playoffs - they've used Maple Leaf Blue to paint their bedrooms, their living rooms - apparently one customer even painted his garage door."

"We launched the Legendary Blue paint last year, had a great response from fans, and are bringing it back again so that fans may support the team and the community," said Tom Anselmi senior vice president, business and chief marketing officer, Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Ltd. "Habitat for Humanity does great work and we're delighted to work with Home Depot in support of this cause."

Habitat for Humanity Canada, founded in 1985, is an independent, non-profit Christian housing program dedicated to the elimination of substandard and poverty housing in Canada. Affiliates are active building home and hope in 53 communities and all 10 provinces. To date over 400 homes have been built in Canada.
