First Round Set: Leafs vs. Flyers
(CP) -- The Toronto Maple Leafs will play the Philadelphia Flyers and it will be the Tampa Bay Lightning versus the Washington Capitals in first-round NHL Eastern Conference playoff series next week.

Results of games Friday night determined the two pairings.

The conference-champion Ottawa Senators and the runner-up New Jersey Devils don't know yet who they'll play because the eighth-place New York Islanders can still catch Boston and claim seventh in the East.

The Bruins can clinch seventh and a first-round matchup with New Jersey if they win at home against Buffalo on Saturday afternoon. Ottawa would play the Islanders.

If the Bruins lose to the Sabres, and the Islanders win at home Saturday against Atlanta and on the road against the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday, New York gets seventh and the Devils. Ottawa would meet Boston in the first round.

With only two days remaining in the regular season, no pairings in the jumbled Western Conference have been determined.

Toronto and Philadelphia will square off for the first time in the postseason since the Leafs eliminated the Flyers in the first round (4-2) in 1999.

The teams split four games this season.

Tampa Bay, in the playoffs for the first time in seven years, has never played division-rival Washington in the postseason.

The Capitals won the season series 3-2, outscoring the Lightning 14-9.
