Maple Leafs Re-Sign Ric Jackman
The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Tuesday that the team has re-signed defenseman Ric Jackman. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Jackman, 25, appeared in a career-high 42 games for Toronto last season, recording two points (both assists) and 41 minutes in penalties. The Toronto native also played eight games for the American Hockey League's St. John's Maple Leafs, collecting eight points on two goals and six assists. He did not see any action in the playoffs.

The Maple Leafs acquired Jackman from the Boston Bruins in exchange for the rights to junior prospect Kris Vernarsky on May 13, 2002.

He was originally drafted by the Dallas Stars with their first choice, fifth overall, in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft. The former member of Canada's 1997 World Junior Championship Team will be entering his seventh professional season in 2003-04.
