Maple Leafs Renew Affiliation With Memphis
The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Friday that the club will continue its affiliation with the Memphis RiverKings of the Central Hockey League (CHL).

Memphis is coming off consecutive CHL President's Cup titles having won the playoff championship the past two seasons.

Last year four players (Robb Palahnuk, Riley Cote, Vaclav Zavoral and Jean-Francois Racine) from Toronto's organization played for the RiverKings in the first year of the club's affiliation with Memphis.

Doug Shedden, the head coach of the St. John's Maple Leafs, spent the past three seasons coaching Memphis and compiled a record of 128-56-14. He is the only coach in CHL history to win consecutive championships accomplishing the feat on two occasions in Memphis (2002, 2003) and Wichita (1994, 1995).
