(Feb, 14, 2004) -- The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Saturday that they have recalled goaltender Mikael Tellqvist from the St. John's Maple Leafs of the American Hockey League.

Tellqvist, 24, has appeared in five games for Toronto this season and has a record of 2-0-2 with a 2.51 goals against average. In addition, he has appeared in 19 games for St. John's this year and has a record of 8-10-1 with a 2.73 goals against average.
Tellqvist has played eight career NHL games for Toronto compiling a record of 3-1-2 with a 2.57 goals against average. The native of Sundbyberg, Sweden was Toronto's third choice, 70th overall in the 2000 Entry Draft.
