Nolan Undergoes Successful Knee Surgery

(June 4, 2004) -- John Ferguson, general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced Friday that forward Owen Nolan underwent successful arthroscopic knee surgery yesterday. He missed the final three regular season games and the entire playoffs due to the knee injury that was sustained March 27 versus Ottawa.

Nolan, 32, played 65 games for Toronto this past season collecting 48 points (19 goals, 29 assists) with 110 penalty minutes. He finished first on the team in shorthanded goals (2-tie), first in game tying goals (2-tie), first in multiple goal games (6), second in multiple point games (12), fourth in assists, fifth in goals and fifth in points (tie).

The native of Belfast, Northern Ireland has played 915 career NHL games collecting 735 points (349 goals, 386 assists) with 1600 penalty minutes.
