Youth Expo Hits The ACC

(TORONTO) -- Providing guidance, inspiration and engaging today's youth is critical to their future success. It is also the theme for Youth Expo 2004.

Presented by Go Kids Go! The Leafs Fund, the Toronto Maple Leafs charitable arm, Youth Expo 2004 is the largest student trade and exhibition show ever held in the Greater Toronto Area.
Youth Expo 2004 is geared towards tweens and teens, between the ages of 11 and 17 years, with the goal showcasing student achievement, while providing young people with access to information about community services, volunteer initiatives, education and career programs.

Students from the Toronto, York, Halton, Durham and Peel district school boards are expected to attend the Expo, which is being held at Air Canada Centre, home of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

From the Art Gallery of Ontario to the Children's Aid Society, there are more than 75 organizations participating in the Expo that range from the arts, technology and social services industries that all play a key role in Ontario's secondary and high school curriculums.

"Youth Expo 2004 serves as a vehicle where students can be energized by others, particularly by their own peers, to reach their full potential and make a difference in the world," said Mary Rowe, director of Go Kids Go! The Leafs Fund.

Inspired by his work with youth, former Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Ltd. Vice Chairman and current Federal Liberal candidate in York Centre, Ken Dryden is behind Youth Expo 2004.

He believes that the sports industry and athletes can not only motivate today's youth by their physical performance, but also by how they serve the community as role models.
Go! Kids Go! The Leafs Fund is committed to supporting children's charities and important community initiatives throughout Toronto. Each year, Go Kids Go! The Leafs Fund raises more than $1.5 million in support of local charities.
