Maple Leafs Re-sign Nik Antropov
John Ferguson, general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced Thursday that the club has re-signed forward Nik Antropov to a one-year contract. In keeping with club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Antropov, 24, played 62 games for Toronto last season collecting 31 points (13 goals, 18 assists) with 62 penalty minutes. He also played all 13 playoff games for the Maple Leafs collecting two assists with 18 penalty minutes. He finished second on the team during the playoffs in penalty minutes and third in plus/minus (+1-tie).

The native of Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan has played 263 career NHL games collecting 125 points (48 goals, 77 assists) with 261 penalty minutes. His best season came in 2002-03 when he set career highs in games played (72), goals (16), assists (29), points (45) and penalty minutes (124).

Antropov was Toronto's first choice, 10th overall in the 1998 Entry Draft.
