(MONTREAL)-- The Toronto Maple Leafs were defeated by the Montreal Canadiens 9-4 on Monday September 13. Despite the loss the Maple Leaf rookies finished second in the tournament standings and will face the Canadiens again September 14 in the tournament Final.

Rich Peverley opened the scoring in the game with his second goal of the tournament, but Montreal scored four straight goals to end the first period leading 4-1.

Montreal scored early in the second period to increase their lead to four goals, but Toronto struck twice before the end of the frame on goals by Rich Peverley (second goal of the game) and Matt Hubbauer with his fourth goal of the tournament to close the gap to 5-3.

Montreal scored four more goals in the third period to put the game out of reach. The lone Toronto goal in the frame came off of the stick of Cam Keith with his second goal of the tournament.
