Leafs Announce AHL Leafs Season Seat Pricing

(November 26, 2004) -- With the Toronto Maple Leafs American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate scheduled to relocate to Toronto at the start of next season, the Leafs announced details for season seat prices Friday.
 
Season ticket prices start at $15 per game with more than 55 per cent of seats priced at $20 or less. The team also introduced a youth season ticket for children 12 years and younger providing a savings of 40 to 50 per cent for seats located in designated areas. The Leafs will begin accepting deposits for season tickets starting Friday, December 3.
 
"We're excited about bringing our AHL club to Toronto, and it's important to us that we offer a ticket pricing structure that is affordable to the widest possible segment of fans," said Tom Anselmi, executive vice-president and chief operating officer of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment. "Fans will get a chance to connect more closely with the Toronto Maple Leafs by watching our top prospects at a critical stage in their development. The AHL is excellent hockey, delivers a terrific evening of entertainment for the entire family and is priced comparably to other options such as movies, the Toronto Rock, Argos, Ontario Place and Canada's Wonderland."

Season ticket holders will be guaranteed the same great seats for all 40 regular season home games at Ricoh Coliseum. The 8,500 seat arena is intimate and ideally suited for AHL hockey. Season seat deposits may be made by calling (416) 703-LEAF (5323).

Fans can preview AHL Leafs hockey before the start of next season this December 1 and 3 with a different twist on the "Battle of Ontario", when the St. John's Maple Leafs host the Binghamton Senators, Ottawa's AHL affiliate, at Air Canada Centre. Tickets for these games are on sale now at Air Canada Centre's box office or by phone at (416) 872-5000, or online at www.ticketmaster.ca.

How many games in an AHL season?
All AHL teams play a 40 game home regular season schedule. Teams do have pre-season games but they are often held in neutral sites and are not part of full season seat holder packages.
How many teams and Divisions in the AHL?
The AHL has 4 divisions: Atlantic, East, North and West Divisions. Each Division has 7 teams for a total of 28 teams in the league.
How do playoffs work? Does each round have 7 games?
The AHL has 5 rounds of playoffs: Qualifying Series (Best of 3 games between 4h & 5th place teams in each division), Division Semifinals (Best of 7), Division Finals (Best of 7), Conference Finals (Best of 7), and the Calder Cup Final (Best of 7).

The season begins in October and the Calder Cup is usually played during the first week of June.
What is the $25 deposit program?
Customers can pay a non-refundable $25 deposit to ensure they get access to AHL seasons or mini plans. Deposit customers will be asked whether they are interested in season or mini's when they make their deposit.
When will I be contacted to confirm my seat location?
Customers will be contacted by a sales representative in February 2005 to discuss specific seat locations.  One third of the total season seat amount owing will be required at that time.
When do customers have to pay and when will tickets arrive?
Customers will be asked to pay 1/3rd of the total amount when they speak with the sales rep and when their seat location is confirmed. Seats will be paid-off in a payment plan with the 2nd installment due in April and the 3rd and final installment due in July. Season Tickets will arrive August.
