Leafs Announce Broadcast Sked
In addition, all eight preseason games will be shown live exclusively on Leafs TV, and for the first time, Leafs TV will be airing Maple Leafs' regular season games in High Definition. Each Toronto Maple Leafs game will be carried live on AM 640 Toronto Radio beginning in the preseason and continuing through to the season's conclusion.
"We are delighted that our fans will have the opportunity to see all 82 games again on television this season," said Tom Anselmi, executive vice-president, chief operating officer, Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment. "CBC, TSN and Rogers Sportsnet are all excellent broadcast partners that are committed to delivering another exciting year of hockey for Leafs fans. High Definition is changing the way viewers watch television and at Leafs TV, we can't wait to provide this new enhancement to our viewer's experience."
Twelve regular season games, exclusively on Leafs TV, will again be accompanied by the one hour pre-game show, "Game Day' and the 90-minute post-game show, "After The Horn', which is simulcast on AM 640 Toronto Radio.
CBC will again have exclusive rights to Saturday night games involving the Maple Leafs and will broadcast 28 games. TSN will show seven of their 27 Maple Leafs games nationally and Rogers Sportsnet will carry 15 games on Sportsnet Ontario in the 2006-07 season.
"TSN has been televising NHL games for more than two decades, and over the years the TSN brand has become intrinsically linked with the very best from the world of hockey," said Phil King, President, TSN. "Toronto Maple Leafs fans are passionate about the game, and TSN is looking forward to bringing viewers another full slate of Leafs games - 27 in total - as we head into another exciting season."
"Leaf hockey is an integral component of the Sportsnet Ontario broadcast schedule," stated Doug Beeforth, President, Rogers Sportsnet. "The deal between Sportsnet and the Maple Leafs enables us to offer the Leaf Nation the hockey it craves."
