Wellwood to Miss Eight Weeks

 (January 23, 2007) - The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Tuesday that forward Kyle Wellwood underwent successful hernia surgery today. He is expected to be out of the lineup for eight weeks.

Wellwood has not played since December 19.  In 35 games this season, he has recorded nine goals and 22 assists.
