Tyler Bozak's second career NHL goal was the third for the Leafs in the first period and it ended any chance that the Senators had in coming back on Saturday.

It came just 28 seconds after Luke Schenn had given the Leafs a 2-0 lead as they were driving hard all game long. The Leafs never let up as they put up five goals on the defensively sound Senators.

4 Goals on the year for Luke Schenn doubling his total from his rookie year.
120:00 Minutes of shutout hockey for J.S .Giguere in his two games as a Maple Leaf.
11 Career goals in 23 games for Phil Kessel against the Senators.
8-0 Goals for and against by the Leafs with J.S. Giguere in net.
7 Shots for Christian Hanson to lead both teams.

There were plenty of candidates on this night but when you play 120 consecutive minutes of shutout hockey you are the player of the game. J.S. Giguere became the first Leafs goalie to record shutouts in his first two games in a Leafs uniform.

Giguere had several key saves including a remarkable stop with the paddle of his stick in the second period. He has stopped 60 shots after his first two games with the Leafs.

The play of Luke Schenn over the last week has been quite impressive. Schenn seems to have mirrored the play of DIon Phaneuf as he hits, shoots the puck with authority and has a great deal of confidence.

Schenn had his best offensive night in his two-year NHL career Saturday as he had a career high three points ( two goals, one assist), a plus four rating all in 21:40 of action. Schenn saw power play time late in the third as Ron Wilson tried to get his blueliner a hat trick.

The play of two of the Leafs young centres, Tyler Bozak and Christian Hanson has to be encouraging for Ron Wilson and the coaching staff.

Bozak had two points and was a plus two. He was very good in the faceoff circle winning 11 of 18 draws. Although Hanson didn't have any points, he led both teams with seven shots, was a plus one and he won nine of 12 draws. The Leafs as a whole won 57 per cent of the faceoffs against the Senators on Saturday.

J.S. Giguere on wanting to win the game for Brian Burke and his family:

"It means a lot. Obviously I think our goal here is to make sure that Burkie and his family don't have to worry about this. They have enough on their plate right now. It's hard enough as it is to lose somebody you love like this, I can't even imagine a kid. So the best thing we can do for Burkie is to make sure that we bear down here at work, that we do our part and make sure that he doesn't have to worry about us."
