A recent MRI on Toronto Maple Leafs' prospect Keith Aulie has revealed shoulder damage that will force the defenceman to have surgery next week and miss the rest of the season.

He is expected to recover from the procedure by late summer.
Aulie, 20, was assigned to the Toronto Marlies (AHL) after being acquired along with Dion Phaneuf from the Calgary Flames on Jan. 31. With the Abbotsford Heat (AHL) this season, Aulie had two goals and four assists in 43 games.
He is in the first season of a three-year entry-level contract and is signed through the 2011-12 season.
Aulie won a gold medal with the Canadian junior team in 2009 in Ottawa.
