Brian Burke, president and general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced Friday that the hockey club has signed restricted free agent forward Nikolai Kulemin to a two-year contract.

Kulemin, 23, appeared in 78 games with the Maple Leafs last season, collecting 16 goals, 20 assists and 16 penalty minutes. The 6-1, 225-pound forward led the Maple Leafs with two overtime goals and was tied for second in game-winning goals with three. He posted a six-game point streak from March 7 to 16, registering four goals and four assists in that span.

In 151 career NHL games with Toronto, Kulemin has recorded 67 points (31 goals, 36 assists) and 34 penalty minutes. The native of Magnitogorsk, Russia was selected by the Maple Leafs in the second round, 44th overall, in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
