Call it the hope line.

Mikhail Grabovski is in the Leafs lineup tonight when the club faces the Ottawa Senators at Air Canada Centre.

The Leafs’ coaching staff would probably love to see the Belarusian buy some time for Nazem Kadri by grabbing the second centre spot behind Tyler Bozak.

Grabovski drew favourable comments from coach Ron Wilson in scrimmages.  He is coming off a 10-goal season but he had 20 in 2008-2009.

He will centre Clarke MacArthur, a 16-goal scorer who split his time between Buffalo and Nashville and came to Toronto via a one-year contract. The Leafs are hopeful of squeezing a 20-plus goal season out of MacArthur.

Joining the troika is Jerry D’Amigo, a 19-year-old scoring winger who made his name last season at the World Junior Hockey Championships.

Tonight’s game will feature another opportunity for the club’s number one line to smooth out the kinks. Tyler Bozak will centre Phil Kessel and Nikolai Kulemin.

John Mitchell will centre Luca Caputi and Darryl Boyce while Alex Foster, Jay Rosehill and Colton Orr represent the fourth line.

Ben Scrivens and James Reimer figure to divide the goaltending.

Mike Komisarek and Marlies farmhand Juraj Mikus, Luke Schenn and Francois Beauchemin and Jesse Blacker and Danny Richmond will form the defence pairs.

The Maple Leafs play their third game in as many nights when they face the Philadelphia Flyers in London, Thursday. The two teams will stage a rematch Friday at Air Canada Centre.
