For the second straight game, the Leafs found themselves in overtime. This time they were the ones that had to come back in the third to force the overtime.

Although the game was tight checking, overtime was wide open but Brett Lebda was called for goalie interference. Just 19 seconds into the man advantage, Oakville native John Tavares roofed the one-timer as the Islanders escaped Toronto with the two points.

Pretty easy on this night, Islanders goalie Dwayne Rolson was once again spectacular against the Leafs. Last season, Roloson stopped 58 shots in an overtime win over the Leafs in Toronto and he was just as good this time.

He made numerous big saves including stopping Kris Versteeg in close in the second period and he made a huge save late in the third after the Leafs had tied it. He has the Leafs' number at the ACC.

Playing in his first game as a Leaf, Brett Lebda handled himself quite well on the Leafs' third pairing with Mike Komisarek.

Although he was called for a debatable goalie interference penalty in overtime, he played a steady game with good puck moving skills and he wasn't afraid to join the rush to help the Leafs' attack. He blocked one shot as he saw time on both the power play and penalty kill.

After winning their first four games, the Leafs ran in to a hot goalie and were not able to pick up the two points. They will look at two disallowed goals as the main reasons that they didn't get the win.

The Leafs contend and replays showed that Kris Versteeg's highstick might not have been and it cost them a goal. The second play, the puck never crossed the line and replays showed that Tavares never did put his hand on the puck and the right call was made.

Ron Wilson on the Kris Versteeg disallowed goal and the Leafs' effort:

"I find it strange that a linesman behind the play made the call (on Versteeg) and you're not really sure if it was a high stick or not and it wasn't because the puck was in shoulder height. But our guys never gave up and played really well. Roloson made a number of saves which he's done in this building before. So all in all I mean I can't complain about our performance at all."
