The Toronto Maple Leafs, RONA and Toronto Parks, Forestry & Recreation will unveil upgrades and refurbishments made to Trinity Bellwoods Outdoor Rink as part of the MLSE Team Up Foundation Rink Refurbishment Program. In recognition of the program, the Leafs will hold their annual outdoor practice at the Trinity Bellwoods rink.

Also on Wednesday, Leafs prospect Jerry D'Amigo was named to the USA World Junior team. Last year D'Amigo had 12 points in seven games helping the USA win the Gold medal. Get more info here.

The Leafs' players all had a great time putting on a show for all the young fans that braved the cold weather. It brought back memories for the players to when hey were growing up.

The Maple Leafs were back on the ice on Tuesday at MasterCard Centre.

Ron Wilson updated the status of injured netmider J.S. Giguere following practice. After meeting with a specialist, Giguere will be off the ice for a week and then he won't return to on ice activities for another seven to 10 days. He will most likely be out for two weeks.

Jonas Gustavsson is expected to get the majority of starts but don't be surprised to see James Reimer get his first start over the next two weeks.

Here is how the Leafs lined up at practice on Tuesday:

Nazem Kadri - Tyler Bozak - Phil Kessel
Clarke MacArthur - Mikhail Grabovski - Nikolai Kulemin
Colby Armstrong - John Mitchell - Kris Versteeg
Fredrik Sjostrom/Brett Lebda - Tim Brent - Colton Orr

Following the win over the Oilers on Tuesday, the Leafs practiced at the Saddledome in Calgary on Wednesday. Leafs captain Dion Phaneuf was not with the team as he attended a family funeral. He is expected to play Thursday.

Injured forward Mike Brown skated with Keith Acton after practice. Brown wore an oversized glove as he still has the cast on his left hand. He is still a few weeks away from getting back into game action.

Below you will find interviews with assistant coach Keith Acton, Francois Beauchemin and Fredrik Sjostrom.

Over the weekend, the Leafs released their Prospect Report for December. Take a look at some of the numbers for a few of the prospects. Full Prospect Report

You can check out my Closer Look from Saturday's 3-1 win over Montreal.

Here is the Game In Six and it was also Homecoming Night you can watch the ceremony here

A few notes from practice:

J.S. Giguere will make his third straight start Tuesday against Edmonton

Mike Komisarek practiced and is getting closer to being ready for action but with seven healthy defencemen on the roster, there is no need to rush him back into the lineup.

Luke Schenn took a shot off the inside of his knee and had to leave practice but he said that he will be good to go on Tuesday.

Dion Phaneuf will be playing against his hometown team (Edmonton) and against his former team (Calgary) during the trip and he is looking forward to being back out West.

December 10

Following the 4-1 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday, the Leafs were back on the ice in preparation for Saturday's game against Montreal.

A few notes from Ron Wilson:

Mike Komisarek will be out of the lineup for seven to 10 days with a finger that he suffered in one of his fights Wednesday in Pittsburgh.

Wilson hasn't decided who will start in net against Montreal

In Thursday's game, two of the Flyers goals were direct results of lost face-offs. Wilson said that the centre can't lose clean draws which is what happened on the goals.

December 2

I attended Leafs practice Friday and it saw some new line combinations, a new face in Jay Rosehill and much which you can read in the full story here.

After their rough outing against the Edmonton Oilers, the Maple Leafs returned to practice Friday because as the saying goes, the show must go on.

NEW LOOK LINES
There were some new line combos including Phil Kessel at centre with Colby Armstrong (more on him later) and Kristopher Versteeg on the wings.

“Phil has volunteered to be a centre,” Ron Wilson said after practice. “He might have some more open ice especially against the Bruins when he goes down the one side running into Zdeno Chara.
Maybe we can get Phil’s feet going”

December 1

The Maple Leafs received some good injury news on Wednesday as J.S. Giguere will return to the lineup Thursday as he will backup Jonas Gustavsson who will be making his seventh straight start in net.

Colby Armstrong also took part in full practice and he could return to the lineup as early as this weekend when the Boston Bruins are in town.

There is some bad news however as according to Ron Wilson, Mike Brown broke a finger when he blocked a shot in Tuesday’s loss and he could be out of action for four-to-six weeks.
