Leafs Recall Reimer, Assign Aulie To Marlies
Brian Burke, President and General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced Friday that the hockey club has recalled goaltender James Reimer from the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey
League. The Maple Leafs also assigned defenceman Keith Aulie to the Marlies. Goaltender Jean-Sebastien Giguere will be listed as day-to-day after re-aggravating his groin injury in the second period of last night’s game against the Calgary Flames.

Reimer, 22, has played in 11 games for the Marlies this season, posting a record of 7-3-1 with a goals against average of 2.73 and a save percentage of .920. He has been recalled by the Maple Leafs three times this season but has not played in a game. Reimer was most recently recalled by the Leafs on December 6 and was returned to the Marlies on December 8. The 6-2, 208-pound goaltender was originally the Leafs’ third choice, 99th overall, in the 2006 Entry Draft.

Aulie, 21, registered two penalty minutes, 31 hits and 15 blocked shots in 12 games with the Maple Leafs this season. The 6-5, 217-pound defenceman was recalled for the first time in his career on November 12 and made his NHL debut on November 13 versus the Vancouver Canucks. Aulie has also appeared in 14 games with the Marlies this season, collecting four points (1 goal, 3 assists) with 25 penalty minutes and an even rating.

The Toronto Marlies will play tonight at 7:35 p.m. in Rochester in the first game of a home-and-home series with the Americans. The Marlies will host the Amerks at Ricoh Coliseum tomorrow afternoon (December 18) at 3 p.m. For ticket information, including season ticket packages and priority seating, visit www.marlies.ca or call the team’s ticket line at 416-597-PUCK.
