Ryan Nugent-Hopkins uses a different type of vision.
Scouts praise his ability to feel the game and move the puck at precisely the right moment.
But there are no situations Nugent-Hopkins hasn’t prepared for through visualization.
“Before every game I definitely do it. The night before a game I do it. Before I have a nap I do it. The mental part of the game is really important.
“A lot of guys go through situations on the ice what you’re done in the past and what you want to do in that game. It definitely is a big part of my game.”
And Nugent-Hopkins greatest asset?
“I would have to say it’s my vision,” he said.
