Jamieson Oleksiak knows he is like a picture in progress but his kind of frame rarely comes along.
While he anticipates returning to Northeastern University in Boston, the Toronto natives size will cause talent evaluators to swivel their heads.
Oleksiak is from Toronto where he played his minor hockey. Anxious for a higher profile, he moved to Detroit where he played at 15 and then up the development latter to University.
Leaving home, he said, toughened him for the journey to come.
“I think I matured a lot. I moved away and lived with a billet family when I was 14. I matured a lot but getting here took a lot of hard work. A lot of people helped me out along the way.”
A good straight-ahead skater, Oleksiak needs to improve his lateral movement but his size and rapid development will be sure to catch the eye of NHL executives.
