The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Tuesday that the hockey club has signed forward Joey Crabb to a one year contract.

Crabb, 28, played in 48 games for the Maple Leafs during the 2010-11 season collecting 15 points on three goals and 12 assists, while adding 24 minutes in penalties. On March 19 the Anchorage, Alaska native scored a career-high three points (one goal, two assists) against Boston at Air Canada Centre. He also played in 34 games for the AHL’s Toronto Marlies registering 11 goals, seven assists and 18 points. The 6-1, 190-pound forward was selected to represent the AHL’s Western Conference at the 2011 AHL All-Star game, but did not play due to his recall to the Leafs.

In 77 career NHL games with Toronto and Atlanta, Crabb has earned seven goals and 17 assists for 24 points along with 52 penalty minutes. The Leafs originally signed him as a free agent on July 1, 2010. He was the New York Rangers’ seventh choice, selected 226th overall, in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
