Leafs Forward Lupul \'100 percent\' After Injury
Toronto Maple Leafs forward Joffrey Lupul skated Tuesday for the first time since separating his shoulder in March.

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Joffrey Lupul skated Tuesday for the first time since separating his shoulder in March.

According to a report in the Toronto Star, Lupul was watched by strength and conditioning coach Anthony Belza during a half-hour session at MasterCard Centre in Etobicoke.

"I’m 100 percent. I’ve had a full summer of training. I’ll be ready to go," Lupul said.

Lupul was injured March 6 in a game against the Boston Bruins. At the time, he was leading the Leafs with 42 assists and was second to Phil Kessel at 67 points.

The left wing did not play in the final 16 games of the regular season and fell three goals short of his career high of 28 (established in the 2005-06 season with the Anaheim Ducks).

"It’s been a long break, and I can’t wait to get back and play," Lupul told the newspaper. "It should be an exciting year."

Lupul did not get to play much for Randy Carlyle, his former coach with the Ducks who took over the Leafs' job three days before the injury.

"It’s a new training camp, a fresh start for everyone," Lupul said. "I know nothing is going to be handed to me just on how things went last year. I’m ready to come into camp and prove myself and play hard and prove it wasn’t a fluke."
