Leafs Sign Brandon Kozun To One-Year Deal
David Nonis, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced Friday that the hockey club has signed forward Brandon Kozun to a one-year contract.
Kozun, 24, was acquired by the Maple Leafs on January 22, 2014 from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for Andrew Crezcenzi. In 75 games this season split between the American Hockey League’s (AHL) Manchester Monarchs and the Toronto Marlies, he registered 17 goals, 29 assists and 46 points along with 70 penalty minutes and +9 plus/minus rating. He ranked third on the Marlies in regular season assists and fourth in points. The Los Angeles, California native added six points (four goals, two assists) in 14 playoff games for the Marlies. Since turning professional in 2010-11, he has played 296 career AHL games and has earned 196 points on 86 goals and 110 assists.
Kozun was originally selected by Los Angeles in the sixth-round, 179th overall, in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
