TORONTO (AP) - Playing without their starting goalie and one of their best forwards because of injuries, the Toronto Maple Leafs ended a slump by regaining their scoring touch on the power play.

Tomas Kaberle and Alex Steen had power-play goals, and the Maple Leafs snapped a three-game skid with a 3-2 victory over the Anaheim Mighty Ducks on Monday night.

"It's frustrating for sure, but we got two tonight and we're happy about it," Kaberle said.

Kyle Wellwood also scored for the Maple Leafs, whose dominant power play struggled in recent games as they lost four of five before playing Anaheim.

Toronto went 2-for-6 with the man advantage, compared to 0-for-8 for Anaheim.

The Maple Leafs won despite missing goalie Ed Belfour and center Eric Lindros. Toronto coach Pat Quinn said Belfour has a sore groin and Lindros a ligament tear in his wrist.

Quinn hopes Lindros will play in their next game, Saturday in Ottawa.

"He may not be that long. We're building a brace for him," Quinn said.

Backup goalie Mikael Tellqvist had a strong performance, finishing with 27 saves in his first game since Dec. 1, when he earned his first career shutout in a win over Atlanta.

Tellqvist found out he was playing after the morning skate.

"I got real excited and a little nervous," Tellqvist said. "It was just a good feeling. Hopefully, we can build on this."

Rob Niedermayer and Teemu Selanne scored for the Mighty Ducks, who haven't won in Toronto in more than six years. The Mighty Ducks are 2-14 all-time in Toronto, and they didn't get off to a good start Monday night.

Defenseman Keith Carney tried to clear the puck from behind his net, but Wellwood intercepted the pass in front and scored at 8:57 of the first.

Anaheim goalie Jean-Sebastien Giguere wasn't happy with his teammates' effort.

"We showed up flat for some reason," Giguere said. "It's unacceptable. We're better than that. We're a skating team and we can't afford to not show up for 60 minutes."

Niedermayer tied it with a wrist shot through Tellqvist's legs at 16:31 of the first, but the Maple Leafs scored twice on the power play in the second. Kaberle's shot from the point gave Toronto a 2-1 lead at 3:03, and Steen's wrist shot after a rebound made it 3-1 at 16:31.

Anaheim's Andy McDonald spun 180 degrees in front before threading a pass to Selanne at the side of the net, and he cut it to 3-2 at 14:50 of the second with his 16th goal.

Notes: Anaheim has been outscored 17-7 in losing its last four games at Air Canada Centre since a 2-0 victory on Nov. 9, 1999. ... The Maple Leafs play in Ottawa against the rival Senators next Saturday. Ottawa beat Toronto 8-0 in their previous meeting. ... Steen failed to score on a breakaway in the third. ... The Maple Leafs recalled goalie J.S. Aubin from the AHL.
