BOSTON (AP) -- The Toronto Maple Leafs have had plenty of players help keep their winning streak going.

Ed Belfour made 25 saves in recording his second shutout of the season and Toronto won its seventh straight game, beating the Boston Bruins 6-0 Thursday night.

"When you win seven in a row, you are getting contributions from different guys each night," Leafs defenseman Ken Klee said. "When guys like (Joe) Nieuwendyk and (Mats) Sundin are out on the ice, you know good things will happen."

Nieuwendyk scored two power-play goals for the Maple Leafs, who are on their longest winning streak since taking 10 straight in 1993-94. Five of Toronto's seven victories have come on the road.

"We may have caught them on an off night," Nieuwendyk said. "They had a tough one last night against Atlanta and they looked flat early."

Nieuwendyk scored the first of three power-play goals for Toronto when he converted a pass from Sundin and beat Felix Potvin at 16:23 of the first period for a 1-0 lead.

Nieuwendyk has three goals and seven points in the last three games for Toronto, which pulled within one point of Philadelphia for the top spot in the Eastern Conference and three points ahead of Boston in the Northeast Division.

Belfour is 13-4-3 lifetime, including four shutouts, against Boston.

"We are riding high and playing with a lot of confidence right now," Leafs forward Owen Nolan said. "We can't let our heads get swollen and need to just keep doing the small things that are helping us win."

Potvin has only one victory since Oct. 28, and is 1-4-2 in his last seven starts. The Bruins are 1-3-1-1 in their last six.

"They took it to us pretty good," Potvin said. "We had a pretty good stretch at home before the last three games and we have to get it back."

Tie Domi made it 2-0 when Karel Pilar's shot deflected off Domi's glove past Potvin at 12:19 of the second period.

Nieuwendyk and Bryan McCabe scored to make it 4-0, then Darcy Tucker capped off the scoring with two goals in a 28-second span in the third.

The Bruins' struggles at home continued as they were shut out for the third time and fell to 4-3-3-1, including a three-game winless stretch.

"Toronto is a good team, the type of team that gives you a chance to see where your at, and were not there yet," Bruins coach Mike Sullivan said.

Nolan had three assists and Sundin and Klee each had two for the Leafs, who have won three straight in Boston.
